A rock and roll show, Christmas from around the world, East coast holidays and comedic New Year’s Eve. Mom’s everywhere, drop the shopping bags, escape the mall, get a babysitter, and head over to Shenkman Arts Centre to experience shows that will have you dancing more than Prancer and Dancer. Feel free to take your husband along too!

“We are excited to bring you many options,” says Caroline Obeid, Artistic Producer and Manager. “Warm up for the holidays at Shenkman Arts Centre with a variety of shows and events that will get you in the festive mood.”

Kicking off the season on November 30, Sultans of String will be taking audiences on a trip around the world with their signature sound set to well-known tunes such as “Jesus, Joy of Man’s Desiring”, “Little Drummer Boy”, “The Huron Carol” (with gorgeous newly-translated Indigenous lyrics), a “Feliz Navidad” ska party, a Turkish twist on “Greensleeves”, and much more.

On December 2 it is time to rock! The ever popular Classic Albums Live is back with their cover of RUSH – 2112. They take on the legacy of this Canadian band note for note. A must-see for any fan.

As we welcome in December, Harold Shenkman Hall will be alive with the sounds of holidays on the east coast. This is a Christmas Concert by The Once with special guest Brad Fillatrewill fill the theatre with seasonal songs performed in their unique folk style.

Wave goodbye to 2017 with a show that will have you laughing harder then Santa. Shenkman Arts Centre presents the 7th Annual New Year’s Eve Comedy night, with guest comics Ben Miner, Jessica Holmes and David Merry. For those who want to keep the party going, move along to the Comedy Night After Party with cocktail bites, a candy bar and bubbly for everyone at midnight. Take this one step further and purchase the hotel package; two tickets to the show and after party, a king-sized room at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, sparkling wine to get the party started, and a breakfast to say hello to the first day of 2018!

‘Tis the season to have fun, dance and maybe enjoy a glass of champagne or two!
