As a mother, I love the concept of baby moccasins because they’re soft on my baby’s feet and easy to get on (I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but I find baby sneakers IMPOSSIBLE to get on my daughter’s feet).

So, I looked high and low in Canada to find the PERFECT Canadian-made moccasins. My criteria was simple, they needed to be:

  1. Expertly made and really high-quality
  2. Able to on my daughter’s feet
  3. Incredibly soft and supple
  4. Adorable
  5. Priced fairly ($90 for moccasins is not happening)

Not too demanding, right?

Finding the perfect moccasins

I surprisingly found this list of 5 small things really hard to find and only ever found a combination of a few of the elements. For example, I bought a pair off Etsy for $25 (which ended up taking forever to be made and shipping sucked), but they were adorable and super cheap, can’t go wrong right? Not only did the leather feel like hard pleather, they also wouldn’t stay on my daughter’s feet…but at least they looked cute for the 30 seconds they stayed on her foot.

After purchasing and wearing 5 different Canadian-made moccasins, I finally took a chance on a new mom-run company on the west coast, Posh Panda.

Victory!

After just touching the moccasins, I was hooked! Not only were they perfectly made (the owner is a huge perfectionist like me, so I have an eye for small details and mistakes and am incredibly picky), but the leather she used was so incredibly soft that I immediately rubbed the shoe on my face.

After several weeks of putting my daughter in these Mocs everyday and wearing them to playgroups and parks, they absolutely stood up to my intense scrutiny. They have not only gotten softer, but have also perfectly moulded to my daughter’s foot.

I don’t know how it’s possible either, but she can’t even get them off while she’s in the car! Most Mocs we tried, she’s had them off and in her mouth in the first 5 minutes of being in the car, but not these ones.
